On December 5, 2005, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council, who was on an official visit to France, met with French National Assembly Speaker Jean Louis Debre in Paris.

During the meeting, Wen said that to develop bilateral relations is a strategic decision made by generations of leaders of both sides and the exchanges between youngsters are very important to advancing bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership.

Debre noted that the French people hold profound feelings towards the Chinese people and French youngsters look forward to China's splendid culture and hope to strengthen exchanges with Chinese youngsters. Both sides have much to do in this aspect.
