Bangladesh China Friendly Organizations hold Discussion Meeting on Beijing Olympics



On July 15 Bangladesh WUSHU Association (BWUA) and Bangladesh-China Cultural Economic & Mass Communication Center (BCCEMCC) jointly held a discussion meeting on Beijing 2008 Olympics in Dhaka. Mr. Akhtar Hamid Siddiqui, Deputy Speaker of Bangladesh Parliament, Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmed, Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association, diplomats from Chinese Embassy, and over one hundred social elites from Bangladesh all walks of life attended the function.

In his speech, Deputy Speaker Siddiqui spoke highly of China's great social and economic achievements, and wished success of Beijing Olympics. Mr. Siddiqui said China has become an economic power. China's development has exerted a positive impact on Bangladesh economy. It is hoped that the bilateral ties will be further promoted with the deepening of cooperation in various fields.

Mr. Wang Yu, Charge d' Affaires of Chinese Embassy gave a brief introduction about the preparations of Beijing Olympics. He said that the Olympic Games is a great event that belongs to all peoples of the world. The Chinese government and its people resolve on staging a friendly, successful and high level Olympic Games with distinctive features with efforts of people from all over the world and spreading "One World, One Dream" to every corner of the earth.

 Lion-Dance Performance

The diplomats from the Embassy projected a film show on Beijing 2008 Olympics. A cultural function including Chinese Lion-Dance was given after the discussion.
