Ambassador Su Ge paid a visit to University of Iceland. Mme. Kristín Ingólfsdóttir, Rector of the university and Mr. Jón Atli Benediktsson, Pro-Rector for Academic Affairs greeted the Chinese guests.

Mme. Ingólfsdóttir briefed Ambassador Su on university faculty and curriculum, and spoke positively of the increasing cooperation in scientific research, language studies and student exchange, between University of Iceland and several Chinese universities.

Ambassador Su accentuated the role of education in the friendly relations between China and Iceland. The initiation of Icelandic language course at Beijing Foreign Studies University, as well as the founding of Northern Light Confucius Institute at the University of Iceland last year, are two new additions to the bilateral educational ties which both sides agree to further strengthen.
