H.E. Mr.Yang Youming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, called on the Honourable Arnold A. Piggott, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Marine Resources on Jan. 4, 2010.

Minister Piggott expressed his warm welcome to Ambassador Yang and spoke highly of the bilateral relations between China and Trinidad and Tobago. Minister Piggott made a brief introduction about the agriculture policy of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, and key areas for development in the agriculture sector. He said that Trinidad and Tobago is willing to strengthen cooperation on agriculture with China and welcomes Chinese companies to take part in the development of agriculture in Trinidad and Tobago.

Ambassador Yang thanked Minister Piggott for his meeting and introduction about agriculture policy and development in Trinidad and Tobago. He said that China is willing to further strengthen and expand the cooperation with Trinidad and Tobago on agriculture and other fields on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
