H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Trinidad and Tobago, called on the Honourable Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Social Development on Jan. 12, 2010.

Minister Browne extended his warm welcome to Ambassador Yang and highly praised the bilateral relationship between T&T and China. He said that the government of Trinidad and Tobago is seeking effective ways to improve the social welfare system and the living standard of its people. He expressed the willingness of Trinidad and Tobago to strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation in the field of social development with China and to make common efforts to pursue the goal of sustainable social development.

Ambassador Yang thanked Minister Browne for his meeting and expressed the willingness of the Chinese side to explore more opportunities for exchanges and cooperation in the field of social development with Trinidad and Tobago, and to strengthen friendship and deepen cooperation between the two countries.
