Ambassador Yang Youming calls on Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development

Ambassador Yang Youming paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Rennie Dumas, on Jan. 25, 2010.

Minister Dumas extended his warm welcome to Ambassador Yang. He said that Trinidad and Tobago attaches importance to develop a long, friendly relationship with China. There are a number of Chinese companies participating in the development of Trinidad and Tobago and they have made remarkable achievements that every one can see. The Trinidad and Tobago Government welcomes Chinese companies to participate in the development of Trinidad and Tobago.

Ambassador Yang thanked Minister Dumas for his meeting and his support and assistance to Chinese companies. He said Trinidad and Tobago is an important country in the Caribbean region and the Chinese Government attaches importance to the relationship between the two countries and would continue to further develop the bilateral relationship on the basis of equality and mutual benefits. The Chinese Government encourages Chinese companies to obey the local laws and regulations, respect the local custom and repay the local communities, as to promote common development on the basis of equality and mutual benefits.

They also discussed the small and micro enterprise cooperation between the two countries.

In an interview after the meeting, they agreed that they had a good discussion, and expressed the willingness of both sides to further expand cooperation and exchanges in every field including labour and micro and small enterprises between the two countries.
