On Feb. 11, 2010, H.E. Mr. Yang Youming, Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, and his wife Mrs. Geng Hailing held the Spring Festival Reception at Fortune Restaurant in Tobago. Present at the reception were the Honourable Chief Secretary Orville D. London and more than 130 distinguished guests including Tobago House of Assembly members, representatives of the local Chinese community, Chinese companies and others from Tobago.

Ambassador Yang offered his festive greetings to the guests, and spoke in praise of Tobago's social and economic development and remarkable achievement in practical cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago in the past year. He expressed the readiness of the Chinese side to further promote the cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

The Honourable Mr. London expressed his thanks to the local Chinese community and Chinese companies for their contribution in the development of Tobago. He praised the China Railway Construction Engineering Group for building the Scarborough General Hospital. He expressed the desire that in the new year, he and the Tobago side will continue to make effort together with the Chinese side to further deepen the friendly and practical cooperation between China and Trinidad and Tobago.

The evening was permeated with cordial, warm and friendly atmosphere.
