Ambassador's wife Mrs. Geng Hailing meets members of Wushu Association of Trinidad and Tobago

Mrs. Geng Hailing, wife of Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, met with Mr. Wayne Alexis, president of the Wushu Association of Trinidad and Tobago, and Mr. Rahman Khabir, secretary general, at the  Chinese Embassy on Aug. 25, 2010. They had a friendly talk.

Mrs. Geng extended her warm welcome to Mr. Alexis and Mr. Khabir, thanked them for the contribution the Wushu Association has made on the long-term promotion of Chinese traditional culture. She said that she has been greatly impressed by the infusion of Chinese and local culture since she came to Trinidad and Tobago. She encouraged the Wushu Association to continue their effort in attracting more people to join in Wushu and Taiji practices for a wider spread of Chinese culture.

Mr. Alexis conveyed his gratitude to the continous support from the Chinese Embassy. He said they will not only continue to promote Wushu among the people of Trinidad and Tobago, but also learn more about Chinese culture, especially the traditional Chinese philosophy, going deep into the spirit of Wushu.

Mrs. Geng and Mr. Alexis and Mr. Khabir also emphasized their discussion on the upcoming International Shaolin Wushu Festival in Henan Province, China in October. Mr. Alexis said that the Wushu Association of Trinidad and Tobago is planning to send a team of four to attend the Festival. The Association hopes the Chinese Embassy could provide assistance for the visit. 

Mrs. Geng expressed her sincere wish for a successful China tour of the Association team, and their very best performance at the Festival. She said that the Chinese Embassy will do its best to assist.

Mr. Li Xuda, Second Secretary of cultural section of the Embassy, was present at the meeting.
