On May 22, 2008, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang met with a visiting inspection delegation of officials from Suriname's ruling coalition.

Prior to the meeting, all members of the delegation signed the condolence book opened by the Foreign Ministry and mourned the victims in the Wenchuan earthquake.
