On January 18, 2007, Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei met with the delegation of Canadian Federal Members of Parliament, which visited China at the invitation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress.

He Yafei said that the parliamentary exchange is an important part of China-Canada relationship. He hoped that the members of parliaments may exert positive influence, enhance the understanding and friendship between the people and promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral ties.

The Canadian side expressed their willingness to further promote the friendly exchange and cooperation between the two sides and make contributions to the consolidation of Canada-China relationship.
