In 2010, the friendly and cooperative relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Chad continued to grow.

There were friendly exchanges between the two sides. In June, General Secretary of the ruling party, the Patriotic Salvation Movement, Nagoum Yamassoum visited China. In August, Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Fougbou Djibert Younous attended the National Pavilion Day of Chad at the Shanghai Expo. In September, Minister of Trade and Industry Youssouf Abassalah came to China to attend the second World Investment Forum.

In April, President Idriss Deby Itno sent a message of condolences to President Hu Jintao on the earthquake in Yushu, Qinghai Province.

New progress was made in economic cooperation and trade between the two countries. In April, Vice Commerce Minister Fu Ziying led an economic and trade delegation of the Chinese government to Chad and co-chaired the first session of China-Chad Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade. The project of the National Assembly building with Chinese assistance and the Freedom Hospital renovation project were launched.
