Main functions: to keep abreast of and study the circumstances and situations in the European region and the countries in the region; to be in charge of diplomatic contacts with the region and the countries in the region and other concrete matters related to foreign affairs; to coordinate concrete policies on bilateral contacts with the countries in the region; and to guide Chinese embassies and consulates in the region in the diplomatic work.
