On September 18, 2008, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei and visiting Director General for Defense and Intelligence at the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office Mariot Leslie held arms control and non-proliferation consultation between the two countries. Both sides exchanged in-depth views mainly on the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, non-proliferation export control and counter-terrorism. They agreed that the enhanced dialogue and exchanges between the two countries in the field of arms control and non-proliferation are conducive to building mutual understanding and cooperation in coordination with the development of China-Britain all-round strategic partnership.
