Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi Meets with Sayyid Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman

On December 10, 2009, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met in Beijing with Sayyid Badr Bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.

Yang extended welcome to Badr, who is here for the fourth round of strategic consultations between the two Foreign Ministries, saying that it is conducive to building understanding and promoting pragmatic cooperation in all areas for China and Oman to exchange views on a regular basis on bilateral ties as well as other issues of common concern through this mechanism. Yang said that to deepen China-Oman friendly cooperative relations in all areas is in the interest of both countries and their peoples. China is ready to work with Oman to strengthen friendly exchanges, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and keep closer coordination in international and regional affairs so as to push forward bilateral ties.

Badr spoke highly of the rapid development of Oman-China relations in recent years, emphasizing that Oman attaches great importance to deepening pragmatic cooperation with China and hopes to coordinate closely with China in international and regional affairs to safeguard common interests of both sides and developing countries at large.

Yang also expounded China's position on climate change and other issues.
