2010/01/12

On January 11, 2010, visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Taieb Fassi Fihri in Rabat, the capital of Morocco.

The two spoke highly of the abundant achievements that have been made in bilateral cooperation in various fields, mainly in politics, economy and trade, culture and health, since the establishment of diplomatic ties 52 years ago. The two ministers agreed to continuously promote the upgrading of China-Morocco friendly ties by maintaining high-level exchanges, enhancing political mutual trust, deepening pragmatic cooperation, expanding people-to-people and cultural exchanges and strengthening consultation and coordination in international and regional issues.

After the talks, the two foreign ministers signed a joint communiqué between the two governments on Morocco's recognition of China's market economy status.

Yang arrived in Rabat on the afternoon of January 11 for his official visit to the country.
