On September 27, Assistant Foreign Minister Shen Guofang met with the press delegation of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Korea (ROK). Shen made positive comments on sound cooperation between China and the ROK in the areas of politics, economy, trade and culture and hopes that the ROK media will play an active role in pushing for further development of bilateral relations and enhancing mutual understanding between both peoples. Shen also took questions from the journalists on China's foreign policy, the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue and other matters.

The 11 members of the press delegation came from 10 media institutions of the ROK and paid this visit at the invitation of the Information Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Besides Beijing, the delegation will also visit Qingdao and Shanghai.
