On February 9, 2006, Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo met in Tokyo with Japanese Minister for Foreign AffairsTaro ASO to elaborate China's principled postion on Sino-Japanese relations. On the same day, Dai also met with Japanese Minister of FinanceSadakazu TANIGAKI and Senior Vice Minister for Foreign AffairsYasuhisa SHIOZAKI.

Dai arrived in Japan for the 4th round of China-Japan Strategic Dialogue earlier that day.
