The 5th Round of Consultations on the East China Sea between China and Japan was held in Tokyo this morning. The Chinese delegation is headed by Hu Yuezheng, Director General of the Department of Asian Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China and the Japanese delegation is headed by Kenichiro Sasae, Director General of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, the Japanese Foreign Ministry. During the consultations, both sides reviewed the process so far and agreed that despite of the big gap between the positions of the two sides, the consultations were active and helpful. Both sides agreed to hold the next round of consultations in Beijing as soon as possible.
