On August 23, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met at the Great Hall of the People with Japanese Prime Minister's special envoy Masatoshi Wakabayashi, also Minister of the Environment & Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Both sides exchanged views on China-Japan relations and bilateral cooperation.

Zhou Shengxian, Director of the State Environmental Protection Administration, attended the meeting.
