Wu Bangguo Meets with Mongolian President Enkhbayar

Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) meets with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing

On November 29, 2005, Chairman Wu Bangguo of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) met with Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar.

Wu said that both sides are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and both peoples share a traditional friendship. Over the past more than half a century, bilateral relations have withstood the tests of historical storms and scored rapid development. Bilateral exchanges and cooperation at various levels and in all forms remain much close. To consolidate traditional friendship and develop mutually beneficial cooperation not only conforms to the fundamental interest of both countries and their people, but also is conducive to regional peace, stability and development. China would like to work with Mongolia to expand bilateral dialogue and cooperation in various areas and push bilateral good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust to a new level.

Wu indicated that the NPC of China would like to maintain and develop the existing friendly relations with the Mongolian State Great Hural, strengthen exchanges and cooperation between leaders, specials committees, working bodies and groups of friendship of both sides and make new contributions to building up mutual understanding between both peoples and pushing for development of bilateral relations.

Enkhbayar said that Mongolia is satisfied to see that bilateral good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust has been developing soundly in various areas. During his current visit, Enkhbayar exchanged in-depth views with Chinese leaders on furthering bilateral relations and regional situation and both sides signed cooperation documents in a couple of areas, which will surely exert a far-reaching impact upon pushing for bilateral friendly cooperative relations. He indicated that China's successful development has offered huge opportunities to Mongolia and Mongolia hopes to continuously strengthen cooperation with China in economy, trade and other areas and realize common development.

Enkhbayar noted that parliamentary exchanges are an important part of bilateral relations and Mongolia would like to work with China to expand exchanges and cooperation between both parliaments.
