Jia Qinglin Meets with Mongolian Prime Minister

2006/11/23

On November 23, 2006, Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met with Mongolian Prime Minister Miegombyn Enkhbold at the Great Hall of the People.

Jia said China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. Over the past half a century, bilateral ties have withstood the tests of time and made rapid progress with their friendship deeply rooted in the hearts of both peoples. The two countries enjoy potentials for further cooperation as both of them are engaged in social and economic development, said Jia. The two countries should earnestly implement consensus reached by heads of the two states on developing the ties based on the principles of "peaceful coexistence, common development and mutual benefit" and deepen pragmatic cooperation in various fields so as to benefit the people and contribute to peace and development in the region, said Jia.

The CPPCC is ready to work with the Mongolian people from all walks of life to strengthen exchanges, facilitate mutual understanding and advance good-neighborly partnership of mutual trust, Jia said.

Enkhbold said the good-neighborly partnership of mutual benefit is developing smoothly. The reciprocal visits of the leaders have helped enhance mutual trust, deepen understanding and friendship between the two peoples and promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields. The Mongolian side has conducted sound cooperation with the CPPCC in recent years, he said, adding that the in-depth development of the relations needs the support from the CPPCC. Enkhbold expressed his country's willingness to further strengthen cooperation with the CPPCC.
