On November 18, 2008, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun had a courtesy meeting with a Mongolian delegation to the 10th round of consular consultations. Zhai made positive comments on China-Mongolia relations, expressing hope that both sides will make good use of the mechanism of consular consultations and reach consensus on relevant issues based on the principle of candidness, pragmatics and mutual accommodation and understanding, in a bid to score more tangible outcome. The head of the Mongolian delegation thanked Zhai for taking time off his busy schedule to meet with him, expressing willingness to closely cooperate with China and push forward China-Mongolia consular relations.
