Overseas Chinese in Nepal Firmly Support the Anti-Secession Law

2005/03/17

On March 15, 2005, overseas Chinese residing in Nepal held a symposium in the Chinese Embassy in Nepal to express their firm supports to the Anti-Secession Law passed by the National People's Congress (NPC) of China. They believed that the promulgation of the law is timely and it is aimed to promote peaceful reunification of China. The overseas Chinese will answer the call of the motherland at any time just like the Chinese residing within the motherland and will spare no efforts to oppose the separation and safeguard national reunification. A Tibetan compatriot, who has been living in Nepal for over 20 years, said emotionally that the Chinese people is a large but unified family and will not allow anyone to split the territory of China. The Anti-Secession Law also represents the will and aspirations of the Tibetan people for reunification instead of separation. The Chinese people can handle their own affairs well and will not allow external interference. Her remarks won the warm applause.
