On February 25, 2008, President Hu Jintao's special envoy and State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with Park Geun-hye, member of the Grand National Party (GNP) and member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in Seoul.

Tang reviewed Park's visit to China as the special envoy of president-elect Lee Myung-bak and the visit to the ROK by the Chinese special envoy in January, which he said showed the importance both sides attached to furthering bilateral ties. China is ready to work with the ROK to push bilateral comprehensive cooperative partnership to a new level, Tang said. Park expressed belief that the friendly exchanges and cooperation between the two countries will be closer.

On the same day, Tang also met with Park Sam-koo, Chairman of Korea-China Friendship Association (KCFA). Tang said people-to-people exchanges play an important role in the development process of China-ROK relations, expressing hope that KCFA will make new contributions to promoting friendly cooperation between the two countries.
