Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met with visiting Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on April 2, 2007.

Tang praised the important contribution Maha Chakri Sirindhorn had made to cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between the two countries over the years, as well as her efforts to build up the friendship between the two peoples. Tang said that the Chinese government attaches great importance to its relationship with Thailand. With their joint efforts, the two countries have conducted fruitful cooperation of mutual benefits in all fields, Tang said. The Chinese side is very confident about the development prospects of Sino-Thai relations, he added.

Sirindhorn said she was happy to have this opportunity to visit China again. She said she would introduce what she had seen and heard in China to the Thai people in order to further promote the friendship between China and Thailand.
