From 25 to 27 June, the 8th meeting of Special Representatives of China and India on the boundary issue was held in Beijing. Chinese Special Representative & Vice Foreign Minister Dai Bingguo exchanged views with Indian Special Representative & National Security Advisor MK Narayanan on the framework of the issue in a friendly and candid atmosphere. Both sides agreed that the next special representatives' meeting would be held in New Delhi at a date to be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.

Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing met with Narayanan and his delegation. During their stay in China, the Indian guests also visited Xi'an.
