On October 10, 2007, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei chaired the first session of the secretariat of the preparatory committee of the seventh summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). The session reviewed the preparatory work of relevant agencies since the first session of the summit preparatory committee in late July and discussed preparations for the next phase.
