On August 17, 2008, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse with his visiting Japanese counterpart Masahiko Komura, who is here for the Beijing Olympic Games. Yang thanked the Japanese side for its strong support for the Beijing Olympic Games, and expressed his wish that Japanese athletes would achieve proud results at the Games. Both sides also exchanged views on China-Japan relations and issues of common concern.
