On June 30, 2023, Ambassador Zhao Weiping paid a courtesy call on Hon. Laura Mcleod-Katjirua, Governor of Khomas Region of the Republic of Namibia. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on promoting the friendly exchanges between China and Namiba at the local level. Hon. John Moonde, Chairperson of the Khomas Regional Council was present at the meeting.

Governor Laura Mcleod-Katjirua welcomed Ambassador Zhao to Namibia and briefed him in details of the exchanges and cooperation between Khomas Region and Jiangsu Province since they established a friendly province-region relationship. Governor Laura also expressed her appreciation to the Embassy for its support to the social and economic development of Khomas Region. 

Ambassador Zhao said, the friendly exchanges between Jiangsu Province and Khomas Region have contributed to the promotion of China-Namibia friendship, and the Embassy is ready to continue playing its role of bridge in facilitating the exchanges between Jiangsu Province and Khomas Region.
