Song Zhiguang (04/1916- 04/2005), born in Panyu, Guangdong Province, was Assistant Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China (02/1978-02/1982). He joined the revolution in November 1936 and was long engaged in political publicity work in the army before 1949.

1936-1950	CPC secretary of Guangdong Anti-Japan Education and Practice Society; officer of the counter-enemy service of the political department of the First Division of the New Fourth Army; deputy chief of the education and publicity section and chief of the counter-enemy section of the Fourth Military Sub-region of Suzhong Military Area; director of the political division of the Fourth Regiment of the First Military Sub-region of Suzhong Military Area; director of regiment political division and deputy regiment political commissar of the Eleventh Column of the Third Field Army; deputy and acting political commissar of the No. 255 Regiment of the No. 29 Army
06/1950	Transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)
10/1950-01/1957	Second Secretary, First Secretary in the Chinese Embassy in East Germany
02/1957-10/1957	Counselor in the Chinese Embassy in East Germany
