On the morning of July 11, 2008, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi and his Mexican counterpart Patricia Espinosa Cantellano co-hosted the third meeting of the China-Mexico Permanent Bi-national Commission at the Great Hall of the People.

Both sides comprehensively reviewed a joint plan of action for the China-Mexico Permanent Bi-national Commission from 2006 to 2010, and held an in-depth discussion on strengthening cooperation. The two sides were satisfied with the progress of bilateral relations in recent years, and agreed to improve the role of the Bi-national Commission so as to push forward bilateral friendly cooperation of mutual benefit.
