The Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry and the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos Jointly Hold China-Laos Consultations on Law Enforcement and Judicial Cooperation and International Law

On May 15, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Qi Dahai and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Laos Hongsa Inthilath held China-Laos consultations on law enforcement and judicial cooperation and international law in Luang Prabang, Laos. Officials from the discipline inspection and supervision, procuratorial, public security and judicial departments of both sides, as well as representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Laos and the Consulate General in Luang Prabang, attended the meeting. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Maythong Thammavongsa and Consul General Zhang Sheping of the Consulate General in Luang Prabang attended the opening ceremony.

The two sides had in-depth exchanges on anti-corruption, fugitive repatriation and asset recovery, cooperation in combating cross-border crimes such as telecommunications fraud and online gambling, as well as major hot issues in current international law.
