On September 24, 2025, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin, upon invitation, attended the reception hosted by the Embassy of Malaysia in China for the 68th anniversary of its country's National Day.

Liu Bin extended congratulations on Malaysia's National Day and said that this year marks a year of harvest in China-Malaysia relations, with close high-level exchanges between the two countries and fruitful cooperation outcomes in various fields. In April this year, President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Malaysia, during which the two sides reached important common understandings on building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping held a meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who came to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. The meeting charted the course for the development of China-Malaysia relations in the next stage. The two sides should work together to fully deliver on the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, and advance the building of a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future toward greater depth and more solid progress. China will continue to support Malaysia in fulfilling its role as the rotating chair of ASEAN, to inject new impetus into regional cooperation.

Malaysian Ambassador to China Norman Bin Muhamad said that the friendship between Malaysia and China has a long history. Malaysia has always regarded China as a sincere partner and trustworthy friend, and is willing to work with China to make positive progress in building a high-level strategic Malaysia-China community with a shared future. He expressed appreciation for China's support for Malaysia's ASEAN rotating chairmanship, and said that Malaysia is willing to work with China to deepen ASEAN-China cooperation.
