On February 13, 2026 local time, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Wang Yi first conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping. Wang Yi commended President Aleksandar Vučić for leading the Serbian people in upholding independence, opposing external interference and effectively safeguarding state stability, national dignity and overall development, which China appreciates. Under the guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Aleksandar Vučić, the building of a China-Serbia community with a shared future in the new era has made a good start. The two heads of state met twice last year for strategic communication and reached broad common understandings, further charting the course for the development of bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Serbia to maintain close high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, unequivocally support each other in safeguarding their respective core interests, strengthen practical cooperation, ensure the smooth operation of the Budapest-Belgrade Railway, unleash the positive effects of the China-Serbia Free Trade Agreement, carry forward the ironclad friendship between China and Serbia, and continuously open up new prospects for bilateral relations.

Aleksandar Vučić asked Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping. He recalled President Xi Jinping' successful visit to Serbia in the year 2024, which gave a strong boost to the development of bilateral relations. He expressed gratitude for China's support to Serbia in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. China remains Serbia's true friend and partner in today's increasingly turbulent world. He looks forward to elevating cooperation between the two sides in various fields such as politics, economy and trade, science and technology, and culture to a higher level. Serbia firmly abides by the one-China principle, resolutely supports China's legitimate position on achieving national reunification, and will continue to provide steadfast support on all issues concerning China's core interests.
