On the morning of September 7, 2016, Premier Li Keqiang jointly attended the commemoration marking the 25th anniversary of China-ASEAN dialogue relations at the National Convention Center in Vientiane with leaders of ASEAN countries.

Li Keqiang and leaders of various countries firstly watched a video clip of China-ASEAN relations. The classical pictures chronicled the extraordinary course from growth to maturity that China-ASEAN dialogues relations have embarked upon, and also showed the broad prospect of China-ASEAN relations.

Under the witness of leaders of ASEAN countries, Li Keqiang and Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos, rotating presidency of the ASEAN, jointly cut the ribbon for the handbook titled 25 Years of ASEAN-China Dialogue and Cooperation: Facts and Figures. They also cut a commemorative cake with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore, the coordinator of China-ASEAN relations.

Li Keqiang expressed that China and the ASEAN have held high the banner of development and cooperation, and adhered to mutual respect, understanding, trust and support since the establishment of dialogue relations in 1991. Bilateral relations are striding forward, vigorously promoting regional peace, stability, prosperity and development. The past 25 years have seen continuous enhancement of political mutual trust and fruitful practical cooperation between China and the ASEAN. China has always regarded the ASEAN as an important force in safeguarding regional peace and stability and in advancing regional integration and world multi-polarization. China will continue to treat the ASEAN as a priority in neighborhood diplomacy, and support the building of the ASEAN community, the ASEAN's centrality in regional cooperation, and its greater role in international and regional affairs. The Chinese side is willing to make concerted efforts with ASEAN countries to further strengthen strategic communication, deeply advance the "2+7 cooperation framework", and energetically enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to constantly inject new impetus into bilateral cooperation, and build a closer community of shared future between China and the ASEAN.

Leaders of ASEAN countries at the meeting spoke positively of the remarkable achievements the two sides have made in the past 25 years since the establishment of dialogue relations between the ASEAN and China, and noted their great confidence in the prospect of bilateral relations. They said that it makes sense to jointly celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of dialogue relations during the 10+1 Leaders' Meeting. The development of ASEAN-China relations would benefit every ASEAN country and is conducive to the construction of the ASEAN community. The ASEAN stands ready to seize opportunities with China to consolidate foundation, tap potential, reinforce political mutual trust, deepen economic and trade cooperation, and expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to lift ASEAN-China relations to a new level and jointly boost regional peace and development.
