On the afternoon of November 13, 2017 local time, Premier Li Keqiang met at the hotel where he stayed in Manila with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of Zealand.

Li Keqiang expressed that China-New Zealand relations have maintained a positive development momentum since the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago. New Zealand has always walked at the forefront of developed countries in developing relations with China. Lauding New Zealand's adherence to the one-China policy, Li Keqiang voiced his confidence that Jacinda Ardern will inherit the fine tradition, further promote China-New Zealand relations, and create more "firsts" in bilateral relations after assuming her post as prime minister. China is willing to work with New Zealand to further take advantage of complementarity and press forward with negotiations on upgrading bilateral free trade agreement, so as to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.

Jacinda Ardern expressed that New Zealand-China relations are of great significance, and the two countries have always respected each other and enjoyed mutually beneficial cooperation. Both countries are committed to promoting social development and people's well-being. New Zealand adheres to the one-China policy, and is willing to cooperate more closely with China and advance the negotiations on upgrading bilateral free trade agreement, in a bid to continuously push bilateral relations for new progress.
