On July 11, 2019, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng met with representatives who came to China for the 3rd China-Russia-United States (US) trilateral consultation and the 1st China-Russia-US-Pakistan four-party meeting at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. They exchanged views on topics including the current situation of reconciliation and peace talks in Afghanistan and ways to propel political settlement of the Afghan issue.

On the same day, the 3rd China-Russia-US trilateral consultation on the Afghan issue and the 1st China-Russia-US-Pakistan four-party meeting was held in Beijing. The Four-Party Joint Statement on Afghan Peace Process was released. The previous two trilateral consultations were held respectively in Moscow and Washington D.C. in March and April this year.
