On September 4, 2025, Vice President Han Zheng attended the friendly exchange event celebrating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cuba diplomatic relations with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez in Beijing and delivered a speech.

Han Zheng said that over the past 65 years, under the guidance and nurturing of successive leaders of the two parties and the two countries, China-Cuba relations have become a fine example of solidarity and cooperation between socialist countries and sincere mutual assistance between developing countries. As President Xi Jinping has pointed out, no matter how the international situation may change, China's commitment to the long-term friendship with Cuba will not change, its determination to support Cuba in following the socialist path will not change, and its will to work with Cuba to defend international fairness and justice and oppose hegemony and power politics will not change.

Han Zheng noted that in 2022, President Xi Jinping and President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez reached an important consensus on jointly building a China-Cuba community with a shared future. This morning, the two heads of state met again and provided strategic guidance for further deepening and substantiating the China-Cuba community with a shared future. China firmly supports Cuba in its just efforts to safeguard national sovereignty and oppose external interference, and stands ready to work with Cuba to implement the new and important common understandings reached by the two heads of state. Taking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cuba diplomatic relations as an opportunity, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Cuban side to continue to deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, strengthen strategic coordination, and work for new and sustained progress in the special friendship between the two parties and the two countries, as well as new and continuous accomplishments in the building of a China-Cuba community with a shared future.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said that Cuba and China share common ideals and beliefs, and the relations between the two parties and the two countries have developed steadily under the care and guidance of the top leaders of both sides, withstanding the test of time. Cuba abides by the one-China principle, and firmly supports the Global Governance Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping. He expressed gratitude for China's support and assistance for Cuba's development. Cuba will deepen cooperation with China across various fields at the strategic level and take greater strides in building a Cuba-China community with a shared future.

Before the exchange event, Han Zheng held a meeting with Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, jointly visited the exhibition of archives and documents in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-Cuba diplomatic relations, and unveiled the commemorative envelope marking the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cuba.
