China and Canada Hold the Fifth Round of Consular Consultations

On December 17, 2025, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Long Zhou and Assistant Deputy Minister of Global Affairs Canada Tara Denham co-chaired the fifth round of China-Canada consular consultations in Ottawa. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on strengthening consular cooperation, facilitating personnel exchanges, and protecting the safety and legitimate rights and interests of citizens.

Both sides agreed to implement the important common understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance consular exchanges and cooperation, address each other's legitimate concerns, and make positive contributions to the sound, stable, and sustainable development of China-Canada relations.
