On December 18, 2018, Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Foreign Ministry Xu Hong and Director of Legal Department of the Foreign Ministry Zagainov Evgeny Timofeevich of Russia held consultation on international law between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries in 2018 in Beijing. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on the important special topics of International Law Commission, the work of international judicial institutions, legal guarantee under the Belt and Road Initiative, maritime law, international law in cyber space, draft convention on the recognition and enforcement of judgments and other topics.

Both sides agreed that the consultation is conducive to the communication and cooperation between the two countries on important international law issues, and making new contributions to enriching the connotation of China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.
