The Foreign Ministries of China and Russia Hold the 2nd Round of Consultation on African Affairs

On April 17, 2019, Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Dai Bing held consultation with Director of Department of Africa of the Foreign Ministry Kemarsky Andrei Vadimovich of Russia. Both sides mainly exchanged in-depth views on hotspot issues in Africa, respective cooperation with Africa and strengthening bilateral cooperation in African affairs.

Dai Bing expressed that China and Russia hold similar views on and policies towards Africa, with respective advantages and features in cooperation with Africa. The Chinese side is willing to strengthen communication and cooperation on African affairs with the Russian side, boost respective cooperation and development with Africa, safeguard the sound atmosphere of international cooperation with Africa and jointly make more contributions to the peace and development cause in Africa. Dai Bing introduced the successful methods and experience of the Chinese side in preparing for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and wished the first Russia-Africa summit a complete success.

Introducing the progress of the preparation of the Russia-Africa summit, Kemarsky Andrei Vadimovich expressed that against the backdrop of the complex and volatile international environment at present, the strengthening of exchanges and cooperation in African affairs between Russia and China, the important cooperation partners of Africa, is conducive to boosting peace and development of Africa. The Russian side attaches importance to and praises the successful experience of the Chinese side in preparing for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and is willing to learn the experience of the Chinese side actively and ensure the Russia-Africa summit a success, so as to push Russia-Africa cooperation for more achievements.
