On the evening of June 12, 2019 local time, President Xi Jinping came to the President's Residence at the invitation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan upon his arrival in Bishkek. The two heads of state met each other in a warm atmosphere.
Bishkek in the mid-summer enjoys clear breeze. The lights in the President's Residence were brightly illuminated. When Xi Jinping arrived by car, Sooronbay Jeenbekov and his wife welcomed President Xi Jinping in front of the residence.
The two heads of state had talks about the traditional friendship between the countries, discussed the bright future of bilateral relations and exchanged in-depth views on issues of common concern in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Xi Jinping pointed out that I was delighted to visit an old friend and it was my second visit to Kyrgyzstan after a 6-year hiatus. With joint efforts from both sides since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kyrgyzstan 27 years ago, bilateral relations have made substantial progress and formed a favorable situation featuring strong political mutual trust, mutually beneficial economic cooperation, mutual reliance in security and close coordination in international affairs. I appreciate Mr. President's public remarks on firmly safeguarding the China-Kyrgyzstan friendship on many occasions. The Chinese side speaks highly of the Kyrgyz side's achievements in reform and development, and wishes the Kyrgyz side more progress in safeguarding national stability and promoting economic development. The Chinese side is ready to share experience in state governance and administration with the Kyrgyz side to achieve common development and prosperity. I am glad to see that bilateral cooperation in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative is constantly witnessing in-depth and substantial development. The Chinese side stands ready to, together with the Kyrgyz side, push the development of China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership for more constant and new outcomes, in a bid to better benefit the two peoples. The two sides should step up coordination within multilateral frameworks including the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, stick to multilateralism, and oppose protectionism and unilateralism, so as to make positive contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Sooronbay Jeenbekov appreciated the great importance President Xi Jinping attaches to Kyrgyzstan-China relations. The Kyrgyz side expresses warm congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and wishes China greater achievements in development. I just attended a release ceremony for the Kyrgyz edition of the first volume of "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China" a few days ago. The book is of great significance for Kyrgyzstan to learn China's precious experience and promote its own reform and development. The Kyrgyz side firmly supports the measures taken by the Chinese government in safeguarding security and stability in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and cracking down on extremism, and thanks the Chinese side for its long-term and strong support and assistance to the Kyrgyz side. The Kyrgyz side values China's influence in international affairs, and is willing to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with the Chinese side in various sectors within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, get on board the express train of China's economic development and push for leapfrog development of bilateral relations.
