On October 14, 2019, during his visit to Turkmenistan, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said to reporters that the Chinese government attaches great importance to China-Turkmenistan relations. No matter how the international situation changes, the Chinese side's policy of developing friendly relations between China and Turkmenistan will not change and its determination will not waver. We are full of confidence in the prospects for the development of China-Turkmenistan relations.
Le Yucheng stressed, deepening all-round cooperation and making China-Turkmenistan relations achieve faster and better development are strong desires of both sides. The two sides agreed to promote the alignment between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Turkmen side's strategy of Revival of the Great Silk Road. While further deepening energy cooperation, the two countries should also carry out cooperation in various fields including connectivity, economy and trade, agriculture, scientific and technological innovation, people-to-people and cultural exchanges and tourism, and activate bilateral exchanges and cooperation mechanisms, in a bid to promote bilateral relations to run forward rapidly, steadily and bravely like Turkmenistan's Ferghana horses.
During his stay in Turkmenistan, Le Yucheng met with Rashid Meredov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, and held talks with Vepa Hajiyev, First Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan. They had a comprehensive, in-depth and candid exchange of views on bilateral relations, high-level mutual visits, and cooperation in various fields, and reached important consensus.
