On September 1, 2020, Director-General of the Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Hong Lei held consultation via videolink with Director-General of the State Protocol Department of the Foreign Ministry Bogdashev Igor Viktorovich of Russia.

Both sides believed that the protocol departments of the foreign ministries of China and Russia have conducted sound cooperation in serving high-level exchanges between the two countries and carrying out protocol work exchanges in recent years. The two sides should maintain coordination to effectively serve the development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era and demonstrate the solidarity and cooperation between China and Russia.
