On March 23, 2026, Assistant Foreign Minister Liu Bin met with Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov.

Both sides expressed that on February 4, President Xi Jinping and President Vladimir Putin held a video meeting, jointly charting a new blueprint for China-Russia relations. Both sides will follow the guidance of the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, take the opportunity of jointly celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China-Russia strategic partnership of coordination and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China-Russia Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation, and maintain close communication and coordination to promote the sustained and high-quality development of bilateral relations and cooperation across various fields.

The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual concern.
