On March 23, 2022, Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem met with Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Xue Bing. Chinese Ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong attended the meeting.

The two sides mainly exchanged views and reached consensus on the Initiative of Peaceful Development in the Horn of Africa proposed by China and bilateral relations.
