On April 25, 2025, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Xue Bing attended and addressed the reception held by the Embassy of Zimbabwe in China to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zimbabwe.

Xue Bing extended congratulations on the 45th anniversary of Zimbabwe's independence and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Zimbabwe, saying that China and Zimbabwe are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners who trust and support each other. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Zimbabwe relations have developed in a sustained and in-depth manner. China is ready to work with Zimbabwe to implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and jointly defend international fairness and justice.

Ambassador of Zimbabwe to China Abigail Shoniwa highly praised the bilateral relations, expressing Zimbabwe's sincere gratitude for the valuable support China has provided in Zimbabwe's pursuit of independence and development. Zimbabwe is willing to continue strengthening economic and trade exchanges and practical cooperation with China to achieve win-win development and promote the practice of true multilateralism.
