On March 17, 2025, Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong had a group meeting with participants of a special seminar for officials responsible for affairs related to the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) from the Republic of the Congo, the African co-chair of the FOCAC.

Chen Xiaodong said that the 2024 FOCAC Beijing Summit was held successfully. During the summit, President Xi Jinping met with President Denis Sassou Nguesso, charting the course for the development of the relations between China and the Republic of the Congo. Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited the Republic of the Congo in January this year and reached broad common understandings with the Republic of the Congo on the implementation of the outcomes of the summit. The two sides set a "timetable" and "roadmap" for the development of the FOCAC in the next three years. China is ready to work with the Republic of the Congo to jointly advance all agendas of the FOCAC and make the FOCAC, a golden brand of South-South cooperation, shine even brighter. Chen Xiaodong expressed the hope that all the participants will make full use of the opportunity of attending the seminar in China to have in-depth exchanges with various departments and relevant sub-national governments of the Chinese side, and make greater contributions to cooperation between China and the Republic of the Congo, as well as China-Africa cooperation.

Head of the seminar and Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Congo Adrien Tsioula said that last year's FOCAC summit was a great success and received warm response from the international community. The Republic of the Congo will earnestly fulfill its duties as the African co-chair of the FOCAC, strengthen communication with all parties, and continue to promote the development of the FOCAC mechanism and the implementation of the outcomes of the summit. Through this seminar in China, the Republic of the Congo will closely coordinate and cooperate with China to create a better future for the relations between the Republic of the Congo and China, as well as Africa-China relations.
