Wang Huning Meets with President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso

On September 4, 2025, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning met in Beijing with President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso, who is in China for the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.

Wang Huning stated that President Xi Jinping and President Denis Sassou Nguesso held a successful meeting, elevating the positioning of bilateral relations to a high-level community with a shared future between China and the Republic of the Congo, and charting the course for the development of bilateral relations in the next stage. China is ready to work with the Republic of the Congo to implement the important common understandings reached by the two heads of state, deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and better benefit the people of both countries. The CPPCC National Committee is ready to make positive contributions to this end.

Denis Sassou Nguesso stated that the Republic of the Congo reaffirms its firm commitment to the one-China policy and fully agrees with the Global Governance Initiative put forth by President Xi Jinping. The Republic of the Congo is willing to work closely with China to jointly build a high-level community with a shared future between the two countries, fulfill the duties of co-chairs of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote the building of an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era, and jointly safeguard international fairness and justice.
