Zhao Leji Meets with President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence

On October 15, 2025, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji met in Beijing with President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, who is in China for the Global Leaders' Meeting on Women.

Zhao Leji said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Joseph Nyumah Boakai, China-Liberia relations have been elevated to a new height of strategic partnership. China is ready to work with Liberia to implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, continue mutual support on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and strengthen solidarity and coordination on multilateral platforms to contribute to jointly building an all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. The NPC of China is ready to deepen experience sharing with the Liberia legislature on legislation and supervision, strengthen exchanges on protecting women's rights and interests through legal means, and create a sound legal environment for practical cooperation.

Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence said that Liberia firmly upholds the one-China policy and supports the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity proposed by President Xi Jinping. She expressed the hope to strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies and promote the development of bilateral relations.
